Little joys this winter.
The winter season is here, and with it a reminder that it is okay to slow down, rest, and be gentle with yourself. The days are shorter, the mornings and evenings colder, and we might not have the same energy as we do at different times of the year. Which is perfectly okay.
Take some time to check in with how you are feeling now. Start to notice what you need more of this season. Maybe it is leaning into a more gentle, relaxing movement practice. Maybe it is more time to turn inward and self-reflect. Maybe it is slowing down the pace of life and letting something go. Maybe it is being more present and noticing the little things around you.
I am leaning into little joys this winter. Embracing the comfort and coziness to be found in the season. Savoring my morning coffee a bit more. Taking pleasure in slow weekends with not much planned besides a new book by the fire. Enjoying nights in with a tea and a favorite show. It might not be very exciting, but those little things can serve as a reminder to be more present. That life is happening all around us, in this moment, right now. If we can find more joy in the every day little things, we can find more joy in our life as a whole. Because really that’s what it’s made of. All these little moments that otherwise often pass us by.
