Start small to create lasting change.

There is a lot of messaging at the beginning of the year to completely overhaul your health and fitness routines, or you know, your whole life. Instead of thinking of January or the start of the year in all or nothing terms (a complete write off or the total reinvention of yourself), why not think of it as a practice run?

It can be a trial of how you would like the rest of the year to go and the routines and habits you would like to build. It is a time to take small steps forward towards new goals and intentions you might have for 2025.

Instead of trying to do everything all at once and then feeling frustrated and beating yourself up when you inevitably have a setback, start off small. Like really small. Pick one thing you would like to add or take away from your week. Then keep practicing and showing up until it becomes a part of your routine and you don’t even have to think about it. Then add something new.

The beginning of the year can be a time to explore, experiment, see what works, and what needs adjusting.

Start off small and build from there. That is how you create meaningful, lasting change!
